Frequently Asked Questions
It’s Chenese, welcome to my FAQ page! Here, I’ve answered some of the most common questions I receive to help you better understand my bridal makeup services. If you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out… I’m happy to help!
How long does the makeup application take?
For adult attendants, it’s 45 minutes per person, and 60 minutes for the bride.
Are touch ups included?
I provide everyone with a touch-up kit at the end of their service. If you’d like me to stay for bride touch-ups, I charge an hourly fee for that service.
Do you have a team for larger parties?
I work independently and can handle up to six people on my own. For larger bridal parties, additional artists can be added to help make sure everyone is ready on time.
Is a preview (trial) appointment necessary?
I recommend booking your trial 2–3 months before your wedding date. This gives us time to finalize your look while keeping it fresh in mind. This appointment is the brides responsibility to schedule.
Are false lashes included?
Yes! I include complimentary strip lashes with every makeup application. If you prefer individual lashes, I can apply them for an additional $35 fee. There isn’t a price adjustment if you choose not to have lashes
Do you travel, and is there an additional fee?
Yes, I travel both locally and nationally (destination)! For local travel within a 20-mile radius of Cincinnati, there’s no extra charge. For locations beyond that, I apply a round-trip mileage rate of $1 per mile to cover travel costs.
Will you work in multiple room settings in one day?
A fee of $100, in addition to a mileage rate of $1.00 per mile (per artist), applies when traveling to multiple locations or visiting the same location multiple times in one day. This fee is charged each time the makeup workstation is requested to be moved. It covers the packing and relocation of the makeup artist's workstation (makeup kit, chair, lighting and travel bag) to be moved to a different area, including moving or relocating to accommodate other vendors (such as photographers and videographers) wanting to use that space.
Is airbrush makeup available?
Yes, I offer airbrush makeup for the bride and bridal party. If I feel your skin type is better suited for traditional makeup, I’ll let you know during our consultation. Or on the day of, for adult attendants. There are specific skin types for which I don’t recommend airbrush makeup.
Do you provide hair services or partner with hairstylists?
I don't offer hair services directly, but I collaborate with talented professional hairstylists who can create beautiful, long-lasting hairstyles for your wedding day.
Can you help create a wedding day beauty timeline?
Yes, I can help! The "getting ready" schedule is crucial and should be planned 2-4 weeks before the wedding. I’ll create and share a detailed timeline with you and your wedding coordinator to ensure everything runs smoothly.
What’s the difference between the artists arrival time and start time?
Upon arrival, 30 minutes will be needed to set up the workstation of where makeup (and hair if included) take place. This must be a well lit area with a window. Once the area is ready, makeup will start immediately following.
How far in advance should I book your services?
I recommend booking my services 6-12 months ahead of time, especially if you're interested in a preview (trial) appointment. The earlier you book, the better to ensure availability and allow time for a thorough preview session.
Do you offer additional services?
Absolutely! In addition to your wedding day makeup, I’m available for engagement photos, boudoir sessions, and rehearsal dinners. These extra appointments are a wonderful addition to your wedding planning and can be booked online.
Do you offer discounts?
Yes. Brides who are members of the "Glam & Go" program receive a 25% discount on all bridal services.
What is your policy on being late?
Being late can disrupt the entire “getting ready” schedule. A $25 fee applies for every 15-minute delay after the scheduled arrival or start time. If there’s a delay of up to one hour preventing me from starting services, the contract will be terminated, services canceled, and it will be considered a no-show.
Do you require a deposit to secure the date?
Yes, I require a 50% non-refundable retainer and a signed contract to secure your date. The remaining balance is due 4 weeks before the wedding. For balances over $900, you have the option to pay in three installments instead of two.
