Back in the summer I had the liberty in working on the set of a bridal gown commercial and here’s one of the many clips created. We had a blast and the weather was ridiculously hot! Although the models looked amazing, the heat took it’s toll on us crew members. But we managed to still have fun, laugh and crack jokes the entire time.
There was even a point during the day where I had to do makeup in a “moving trailer”, driving around the Hyde Park area & Alt Park and back… talk about funny!
A special thanks goes out to Madison Avenue Bridal, models from New View Model Mgt., Bridal-n-Tux, ZoMotion Productions, Barking Fish Entertainment, Hyde Park Hair Salon and photographer Jonathan Hornsby.
Enjoy!

Okay yet this week we had another snow day leaving many of us stuck in the house (again), and according to the news we may have another. So while your taking advantage of taking cat naps, spending time on social media sites, catching up on emails etc. take a few quick seconds to do that one thing that’s quick & easy to cure that one constant thing we all suffer from during the winter months…dry chapped lips!
You’ll need two things:
1. Vaseline
2. Warm wash cloth (or alt. method) a dry soft toothbrush
Apply a thick amount of Vaseline to cover your lips, take your warm wash cloth (or toothbrush) and gently rub back & forth. But be sure not to scrub to hard using the toothbrush, so that your lips don’t bleed.
Once done, pat your lips dry and apply lip balm of your choice.

On 10/24/09 Ashley Brill and Brian Roeding tied the knot at the beautiful St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica in Covington, KY. And beautiful it was! And a few vendors from the Wedding Mafia (myself included) didn’t hold back in giving Ashley nothing but the best.

Every detail was coordinated by Kathy Piech-Lucas and her go to assistant, kept this bride right on schedule. And Jessica from Images By Daniel Michael & Lifetime Video to capture it all gave red carpet treatment.

Patricia’s Wedding Cakes created a beautiful cake for the couple, and I wasn’t surprised that Courtenay Lambert Florals created some fabulous bouquets.

Even though I was full of emotions this day due to me missing my BFF’s wedding, I had to pull it together and I couldn’t let that affect the service that Ashley deserved, I even hung out with her in the limo before the wedding started doing girl talk to help ease her nerves (and mine). LOL Below is Ashley’s wonderful email:
Chenese, I just want to thank you again for being there to make me beautiful on my wedding day. I know it was also your best friend’s wedding day and I can’t imagine being put in that situation. I so appreciate you sticking by our contract but would’ve understood if you couldn’t. You being there for me, considering the circumstances, showed professionalism and unbelievable commitment to your brides and what you do. I thank you so very much for making me feel the most beautiful I have ever felt and for taking my groom’s breath away! Best wishes and many thanks, Ashley R.

A few months ago I had the opportunity to work on a 3-day photo shoot for Pure Romance. It was fun and full of silliness, jokes and so much laughter my stomach was hurting by the end of the week. The photos will be used for their marketing purposes of course so keep watch of their website and marketing materials, especially to those Pure Romance reps.

Each day we were on some fabulous locations, each one better than the next. A special thank you goes out to those at The Wall Productions and their producer Shel Burks for having me aboard. And to the beautiful models from Heyman Talent, New View and Helen Wells it was good working with you again and making new acquaintances all the same!

Lipstick is a personal preference and I’m sure you can agree with me when I say there’s a time and a place for it. Either one day you can’t stop wearing it and another you skip it all together. When working on photo shoots or assisting a major client of course I use it like nobody’s business, but when it comes to working with my lovely brides and/or upon giving beauty advice to the every day working woman I actually skip it and use a lip pencil instead!
Why, well because it gives a more natural look without the lips feeling extremely heavy, eliminating 3-4 lip products to carry around (lip balm, lip pencil, lip stick & lip gloss, etc.) because during the course of a busy day who really has time to do all that.
So here’s my little trick:
1. After you’ve exfoliated your lips apply lip balm.
2. Using a lip pencil (color of your choice but I prefer something more close to your natural lip color for a natural look). Line your lips and then color them in with that same lip pencil.
3. Gently pat (don’t rub) your lips together to set the color, this will help make it last longer.
4. Apply your favorite lip gloss over top.. and viola!

For a night time look use a darker lip pencil, but make sure when going darker the rest of your makeup should be minimal. Being that your emphasizing more on your lips you don’t want to overdo your makeup on the rest of the face. Below are some other favorites I have. Lip pencils and/or lip coloring systems that can be used when trying this beauty tip.
